PA9T

High heat resistant polyamide PA9T resin compared to PA6 or PA66, it has superior
heat resistance, dimensional stability and chemical resistance. Therefore it is used in
several applications in the electrical/electronic market and the automotive market.
Because of its unique chemical constitution, It displays original performance upon
comparison to other heat resistant polyamides such as PA46 and modified-PA6T. PA9T
is based on homo-polymer (melting point 306, glass transition temperature 125).
When compared to other heat resistant polyamides, it has several superior features
such as low moisture absorbency, high heat resistance, high crystallinity, high
abrasion resistance, high chemical resistance and superior dimensional stability.
Especially, it is more than 260 as reflow solder temperature. Therefore it can be used
as a corresponding material for lead free solder

Water Absorption. The water absorbency of PA9T is the lowest among high heat
resistant polyamides. This superior property is kept under conditions of higher
temperatures and/or higher humidities. Due to the low water absorbency property, the
mechanical properties, dimensional stability and electric properties are stable.
Mechanical Properties. PA9T keeps its superior mechanical properties at higher
temperatures. This is shown by its less elastic modulus decrease at high temperature.
Dimensional stability. Due to its low water absorption, PA9T has a superior
dimensional stability. It experiences less dimensional change after infrared heating
when compared to other engineering plastics.
Electrical Properties. Compared to other heat resistant polyamides, the electric properties of PA9T are stable because of low water absorbency.
Chemical Resistance. PA9T has superior chemical resistance in the class of heat resistant polyamides. The table below shows tensile strength retention after dipping in
solvent.
Surface Hardness. PA9T shows very high Rockwell hardness numbers compared with
other heat resistant polyamides and LCP under wet conditions. The Rockwell
hardness numbers of are almost the same under dry and wet conditions.
Abrasion Resistance. PA9T also shows superior abrasion resistance, as do other
polyamides as a typical property.

SMT connectors. thin-walled and many-pin part-like memory sockets of computer
substrate and board to board connectors for flexible printed circuits (FPC). phone jack. IC socket, etc.
